The Oreck Commercial LB9000 Low Boy floor machine is a floor buffer with an orbital drive, a 10.8-amp induction motor, 5-inch wheels, and a screen sanding kit that enables the machine to be used as a floor sander. When used with appropriate brushes or pads (sold separately), it can also be used for cleaning wood, vinyl, tile, and other hard floors and for dry-cleaning and loosening dirt from carpeted floors. The orbital drive oscillates at over 1,725 orbits per minute to buff, clean, polish, sand, scrub, strip, or wax floors without making the machine twist or creating swirl marks or gouges. Induction motors have no brushes or commutator, are resistant to wear, and are typically quieter than universal motors. The machine has an apron that measures 19 inches in diameter and helps keep sanding dust contained. The 14-gauge steel handle has a kick release and an automatic locking system for usability. A mount on the handle enables sanding dust to be collected with backpack or canister vacuum cleaners (sold separately). The two triggers on the handle are nonconductive to reduce the potential for shocks. A safety interlock switch prevents accidental startups. A 50-foot power cord enables the machine to cover a larger area without changing outlets than those with shorter cords. The machine has an orbital path of 19 inches and is suitable for use with various accessories including brushes, pads, pad holders, grit loop backs, and grit sand screens (sold separately).
